While collaborating with Pili Weeber Production Design, I rendered a custom background for the visual and commercial campaign for the PUMA x ASAP collaboration. The concept centered around creating an edgy, moody atmosphere set within a hyper realistic off-road motorcycle course. To achieve this, I designed a dramatic backdrop featuring a dark, overcast sky and sweeping sand dunes, perfectly complementing the imported sand used on set. This immersive and striking environment enhanced the campaign’s gritty aesthetic, aligning seamlessly with the bold and adventurous spirit of the collaboration.

CREATIVE VISION
For this collaboration, I was tasked with creating a 3D-rendered motocross course that balanced a dark, moody aesthetic with a high-fashion sensibility. The goal was to craft a visually striking backdrop that not only complemented the designated sand for the shoot but also served as a seamless extension of the creative direction. The design needed to be immersive and expansive, allowing for multiple angles and sections to be used without repetition, ensuring versatility for both video and photo content.
DESIGN CONSTRAINTS
The project required a meticulous approach to achieve hyper-realistic textures and lighting that would seamlessly integrate with the physical elements on set. Crafting a backdrop large enough to provide diverse perspectives posed a unique challenge, demanding precise attention to detail and an innovative use of 3D modeling tools. To streamline the process, I explored and self-taught a new software program, integrating AI tools to accelerate certain aspects of the rendering process while maintaining the highest level of quality and realism.
KEY INSIGHTS
This project was a transformative experience that highlighted the value of adaptability and continuous learning in the design process. Teaching myself new software and leveraging AI tools not only enhanced efficiency but also expanded my skill set, equipping me to tackle complex, large-scale visual projects with confidence. The resulting design successfully captured the desired mood and aesthetic, serving as a dynamic and versatile element of the shoot. This experience reinforced my passion for pushing creative boundaries and blending technology with artistry to deliver compelling visual solutions.
